If you are aware that a company or individual would like to give a gift to support your research or department, please contact the Senior Development Director , 831-459-4572 or his assistant , 831-459-1420 to discuss what is needed to process the gift. Some companies need invoices or "agreement" letters in order to fulfill their donations. We will need a statement from the Donor that explains the purpose of the gift (see Step 2).
If you are receiving a gift of equipment/software, no matter how large or small, please send an e-mail with a description of the gift to .
This will send an e-mail to all SOE parties that need to be aware of these kinds of gifts for inventory. Also, before the gift can be received, we will need a list of the equipment and its estimated value from the company.
To process your gift, the Development Office needs a statement of purpose from the donor referring to the gift, often known as a "letter of gift" or "corporate research agreement." We will either provide you with a template or work with a corporate representative directly on your behalf.

If the donor would like to do a fund transfer, please have the donor contact , 831-459-1420.
Any gift supporting research from a company must be accompanied by a "Statement of Economic Interest." The Development Office will provide a copy to you upon receipt of your gift.
Once all paperwork has been submitted by the Development Office, funds will be deposited into your account. This process may take a week or sometimes as long as a month. Please check with your Research Accountant to confirm that funds have been deposited. Please keep in mind that there is a 6% administration fee taken out of every gift.
